Hello! I recently revisited ‘Da Pitta Second Kitchen’ in Seocho, which I was very satisfied with during my last visit.
I felt a bit regretful that I didn’t get to enjoy the pasta enough on my first visit. Since I was particularly craving pasta this time, I decided to focus mainly on ordering pasta dishes. To give you the conclusion first, this place is definitely good at pasta as well as wood-fired pizza.
Appetite-Whetting Bread Made Sweeter with Honey #
The appetizer bread that welcomes you as soon as you sit down is as chewy as ever. This time, I asked for honey to be spread on the bread, and it was really delicious. The moderately sweet taste combined with the warm texture of the bread was enough to stimulate my appetite. As soon as I took a bite, I thought, “I’m glad I came.”
Grilled Chicken Salad that Surprised Me with Its Generosity #
Before the main meal, I tasted the Grilled Chicken Salad (18,000 KRW). Usually, when you order salad at other places, it’s mostly vegetables, but here the amount of chicken breast was really generous. Even though I don’t usually enjoy vegetables, I kept reaching for them thanks to the savory sesame dressing. The composition was so substantial that the salad alone felt quite filling.
Lasagna: The Standard of Harmonious Taste #
I love lasagna so much that I chose it without hesitation when I saw it on the menu. The price is 21,000 KRW, and it was impressive how the ingredients didn’t stand out individually but blended well as one. The combination of the deep flavor of the ragu sauce and the stretching cheese was excellent. I personally prefer a higher sauce ratio, but this lasagna was really delicious because I could feel the savory taste first rather than greasiness, even with a lot of cheese.
Gorgonzola Cream Pasta with Charming Truffle Aroma #
This is the Gorgonzola Cream Pasta (23,000 KRW) that I was looking forward to the most. The scent of truffle oil spreading subtly from the moment it was served stimulated my nose. The sauce was very thick but wrapped smoothly in my mouth without clumping. I especially liked the chewy texture of the noodles and the way the sauce soaked well into them without staying on the surface. It could have been greasy, but I finished it happily without getting tired of it until the end.
Closing Thoughts #
My second visit to Da Pitta Second Kitchen did not disappoint. Not only the pizza but also the pasta and salad were all top-notch, so it’s a place I can confidently recommend to anyone.
However, it’s a bit regrettable that reservations are essential during lunch hours because there are always many customers. If you want to enjoy proper Italian cuisine even if you have to wait, please visit at least once. I think I’ll come back again soon when I think of pasta.
